After having done FIRST Robotics for 4 years in high school I came to Duke thinking most of my time would be spent in engineering pursuits. However, after some unxpected experiences, I was introduced to the world of consulting and finance as a possibility. I've always been up to date on market news and have been interested in the stock market since I started high school, but I never even considered anything in that realm for a career.

Now I find myself in a position to explore the intersection of technology and the business world through my coursework and personal projects in computer science and engineering and leveraging my experiences in consulting and interning at McKinsey & Company.

Started High School

Begun high school at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami, Florida with a merit scholarship.

August 2017

FIRST Robotics

Joined FRC Team 5557 at Gulliver, starting me on my engineering journey.

December 2017

National Park Road Trip in Utah

Spent two weeks driving through Utah, visiting 5 national parks and 2 national monuments.

June 2018

Internship at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

Assisted a PLTW professional development program about the SPRINT method and rapid prototyping.

July 2018

Gulliver JV Basketball Team Captain

In my second year on the team, I was elected captain.

November 2018

OBD II Car Diagnostic System HUD Project

In collaboration with my good friend and robotics teammate, David Krajewski (Carnegie Mellon '25), I built a heads-up display for a car that displays the car's OBD II data using a raspberry pi and a 7" touchscreen.

February 2019

Community Service Trip to the Dominican Republic with Techo

Spent a week building five houses in a rural village in the Dominican Republic with Techo.

April 2019

FGCU Solar Go Kart Challenge

Led Gulliver's solar go-kart Team as captain as the only underclassman on the team. Worked primarily on the electronics and welding for the kart.

Engineering Innovation at Johns Hopkins University

10-week program serving as an introduction to college-level engineering classes.

June 2019

Volunteering with Zeta Omnicron at Gulliver

Began the volunteering program at Gulliver's computer science honor society. Developed modules and taught students at a Title IX migrant center in Homestead and at CARE Elementary in Overtown.

September 2019

Project Takeoff

Conducted research into forward-swept wing fighter jets, specifically the Soviet Sukhoi Su-47, and why they failed.

October 2019

Varsity Basketball Team Member

First year as a member of the Varsity Basketball team at Gulliver under new coach Gary DeCesare.

November 2019

FIRST Robotics Orlando Regional

In my first year as a team lead, the team implemented swerve drive and was the only team to pass inspection at the Orlando Regional before it was unfortunately canceled due to COVID.

March 2020

MDC COVID Updates

After they sent us home for COVID, I learned Python and began making a script to automatically update Miami locals via a mailing list with the latest data from the JHU CSSE repository.

La Roc

Engineering research project in which along with Lilly Enekes (Barnard '25) and Andrea Park (UCSD '25), I researched the efficacy of using electrolyzed metal rebar structures to promote new coral growth.

SpaceX Launch

Drove to Cape Canaveral to watch SpaceX's first ever crewed mission using the Crew Dragon capsule.

HSF Youth Leadership Institute

Identified as a Hispanic Scholarship Fund scholar and participated in their YLI program.

July 2020

CG Cosmetic Surgery

Began working forty hours a week at CG Cosmetic surgery.

Recycle Refurbish Peru

In collaboration with Jade Pita (Wash U '25), and Gulliver's Recycle Refurbish Club, I helped refurbish 25 laptops a clinic in Coya, Peru, so that it could serve as a learning hub for students during the COVID pandemic.

Flame Breathing Jack-o-Lantern

A little fun project I implemented using an Arduino Uno and a ultrasonic sensor so that when people walked by my Jack-o-Lantern, it would spit flames out.

Innovation for Tomorrow

Began an engineering research project looking into the Sargassum problem in Miami and the Caribbean and the possibility of using the algae to produce bioplastics.

November 2020

Final Frontier Documentary

In collaboration with Everest Maya Tudor (Brown '25) as part of our AP Literature class, produced, animated, and edited a documentary about space exploration as a billionaire's game in the 21st century.

January 2021

Graduated High School

After four memorable and amazing years at Gulliver Prep, I received my high school diploma.

May 2021

Hawaii Trip

Spent two weeks in Oahu at my cousin's house with my girlfriend at the time. Had an awesome trip with lots of hikes, surfing, exploration, and backgammon.

June 2021

Started at Duke University

Arrived on campus in Durham, NC as an Electrical and Computer Engineering + Computer Science double major with an Economics minor.

August 2021

COVID Hand Washing Timer

Two week SPRINT project as part of Engineering 101 class in which I designed, built, and programmed a hand washing timer and then used Blender and the Adobe create suite to create a launch video for it.

September 2021

Finalist @ 2021 MIT Energy Hackathon

With a team of four Duke Juniors, competed in the MIT Energy Hackathon and was one of seven teams out of over fifty to advance to the final round.

Grow Getters

In a team of four Engineering 101 students including George Fang (Duke '25), I designed, built, and programmed a system that dynamically extended and retracted shade cloth that covered transplanted garden plants.

December 2021

ECE 110 Final Project

With George Fang (Duke '25), we used an Arduino Mega and the DOE bot to complete a series of automated tasks as part of our final project for ECE 110.

Final Four 2022

Traveled to New Orleans with some friends including Andres Laventman (Duke '25) and unfortunately watched our Blue Devils lose to UNC.

OpenCV Project

Started messing around with OpenCV and Python to create a program that could detect and track a poker chip using its color in a video feed.

Backpacking Europe

Spontaneously spent twenty three days in Europe with Joshua Gonsalves (UF '25) with each of us carrying only two backpacks. We started in Madrid and went to Barcelona, Paris, Strasbourg, Geneva, Vevey, Montreaux, Milan, Verona, Venice, Florence, Cinqueterre, Pisa, and Rome.

McKinsey & Company First Year Summer Business Analyst

Spent my summer after freshman year interning at McKinsey. Worked on a risk management engagement within the social sector practice, as well as a client development engagement in the Global Energy and Minerals practice.

Finalist @ 2022 MIT Energy Hackathon

Returned to the MIT Energy Hackathon this time with a different team consisting of Eddie Scott (Duke '25), Tori Hagenlocker (MIT '26), and Ryan Rosner (Duke '23) and once again made it to the final round.

During spring break I found myself with some more time on my hands and decided to start building this website using React. I'm still working on it, but I'm really enjoying the process.
